Oh Square Enix, you and your obsession with PC ports lately. Not that the obsession is a bad one. Honestly, its wonderful that PC gamers are finally receiving some JRPG loving.

At the 2015 MSI Computex Gaming Night, held in Taipei, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will arrive on Steam, but unfortunately, no release date accompanied the statement. Via Twitter, Square Enix later confirmed that Type-0 will bring new graphical options, improved battle controls, improved cameras, and more to the PC release of the PSP-originated title.

The library of AAA games on the PC, including JRPGs, are constantly growing. Fairly recently, we have seen the PC port releases of AKIBAS TRIP: Undead & Undressed, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation, Valkyria Chronicles, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, Final Fantasy IV: The After Years, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, and many more. Of course, these games are just the tip of the iceberg maybe simultaneous PC/Console releases are in store for us over the horizon.

Nevertheless, are you looking forward to the port release of Final Fantasy Type-0, given the mild welcoming of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release, and the rather lukewarm reception of the PC ports of Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2?

Perhaps if this port sells well, Final Fantasy XV will make its way onto the PC soon after console release (maybe even day of as a surprise).

Stay tuned to Gamerz Unite for Type-0 HDs release date and additional details. GZU also covered a preview for the title

One question however, since this has been released: What in the world happened to the PC port of Lightning Returns?
