Jurassic Park in VR anyone?

Ark: Survival Evolved is taking quite a turn in another direction with their virtual reality version of the game.  Ark is well known for being arguably the most popular multiplayer online survival RPG on the market right now across PC, Xbox One and PlayStation.

Starting out as an early access game on Steam, it grew in popularity at an astounding rate, quickly being ported out to Xbox One and later PS4.  While the game is still in a state of early access, developer Studio Wildcard has been consistently releasing weekly patches and new content, including DLC (at the outrage of many fans), and now a Virtual Reality branch off.

While Ark: Survival Evolved is a brutal game, that involves a harsh environment and even harsher online competitors, Studio Wildcard has turned their Virtual Reality version of the game into something very reminiscent of Jurassic Park, with more of an observatory perspective.  Players can walk around the Island, without the fear of being torn to shreds by one of the Islands merciless predators.

While VR technology is very new, I think Studio Wildcard is making great efforts to turn their brand into something other than just a survival game.  With Ark being the most successful of the genre, at least in early access state, dozens of copies and re-skins of the game/genre are saturating the market, making it rather underwhelming to see new survival online RPG's in development.

If you're a fan of online survival games and riding dinosaurs into battle (then again who isn't), check out Ark: Survival Evolved out on Steam here.

P.S. Since the game is early access, it's not fully optimized and requires a fairly high-end PC.
