CD Projekt Red Doesn't Want Ciri in Cyberpunk 2077

With a flood of new information about Cyberpunk 2077 having been released at this year's E3 event, the community is raving about what they can expect. Though the developers are against the most common topic: Ciri.

In an interview with Polygon, Co-founder and joint CEO of CD Projekt Red Marcin Iwiński and game director Adam Badowski expressed their exasperation with the idea.

Witcher 3 Spoilers Below

In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Ciri was teleported into another world for hiding. When she returned, she described the world to Geralt, the player. She describes what sounds like a modern or futuristic society, referring to items like flying cars and guns. You can watch the scene for yourself in the video below:



Fans had concluded that this was in reference to Cyberpunk 2077, an Easter egg dropped in before Cyberpunk 2077 was announced. If so, then Badowski isn't happy with it.

We are not Kingdom Hearts, we are not joining universes, and I know that there are a lot of fans on the team and they would like to have Ciri in the game. But I am totally against it, still.

Iwiński expressed encouragement, implying that Badowski may change his mind in due time.

As it currently stands, it's safer to assume we will not be seeing Ciri in the Cyberpunk 2077 world at this time. But hey, there's still hope.
