CD Projekt Red's upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 has earned itself quite a reputation as the game that's been delayed approximately a billion times. A reputation it deserves, even if in the great scheme of things its delays are fairly small, (remember when Duke Nukem Forever took over a decade to come out? Or The Last Guardian?) and it's gotten to the point where even investors, the people CD Projekt Red cares about most, are starting to grow suspicious that perhaps it will never come out.
Well, CD Projekt Red couldn't have that, and in the Financial Report published earlier this week, they confirmed that December 10 is absolute, 100 percent, the new and final release date for their upcoming RPG. Maybe.
It's not as if they haven't been in this position before. While the first few release dates were announced with a big old "but" next to them, as we progressed from April to September to November, CD Projekt Red got progressively more bold in their release date claims... and progressively more apologetic with each delay.
That said, the game has gone gold, it's exactly two weeks away, and already leaked copies are being streamed, so... maybe this time we can finally relax.
