As we now officially know, Diablo 3 is coming to the Switch, which will totally be absolutely 200 percent amazing. However, what makes this announcement so mind-blowing is the fact that this is the first Blizzard title in 15 years to make its way onto a Nintendo console.

And it just so happens that this may be the start of a beautiful collaboration between the two giants. So, of course, queries would arise regarding other Blizzard games heading to the Nintendo Switch.

And Blizzard has spoken with a highlight on Overwatch. Blizzard believes that, from a technological viewpoint, it is indeed possible to port Overwatch to the Switch. According to Pete Stilwell during a conversation with GameSpot:

"Anything is within the realm of possibility. Our team was given the task to work on this. If [Overwatch developer] Team 4 picks up that endeavour, that's on them. As of right now Diablo is our only focus on Switch."

GameSpot then asked if Overwatch could run smoothly on the Switch. Stilwell replied:

"Yes, it is feasible."

Does it mean that Overwatch will be ported to the Switch? Maybe, maybe not, but I wouldn't get my hopes up.

And what of StarCraft 2? Could we see that on the Nintendo Switch?

Stilwell had an answer for that too, but it boils down to the gameplay of the RTS needing a lot of rework in order to support the Switch hardware:

"The N64 version of StarCraft was cool but you had to change the game quite a bit to make it work properly on console. StarCraft 2 is next level requirements from how much dexterity you need with a mouse and keyboard, so I think that would have been a very difficult port. It would have [to] change the core gameplay."

So yeah, porting StarCraft 2 would not be impossible but incredibly difficult.

Either way, we are seeing Diablo 3 on the Switch, which is awesome enough. We will see what Blizzard and Nintendo have in store for us later down the road.
