The Battlefield franchise has always been extremely well respected. Fans love what the Battlefield games have to offer and the sales have consistently done very well. However, Battlefield 1 might not be putting Call of Duty out of its misery like everybody thought it would. EA actually came out and said that the projected sales for Battlefield 1 is lower than the 15 million average that the other Battlefield games set. With a projected 11 million copies to be sold, what's causing this decrease?

Battlefield is launching on October 21st, which is just one week before Titanfall 2 releases. There have been a ton of rumors saying that Titanfall sales will make a huge impact on the amount of Battlefield 1 copies that will be sold. Well, Titanfall 2 actually did quite poorly in its technical test. A lot of people had some very negative things to say about it. Judging by the response of the public, if Respawn doesn't make some major changes to Titanfall 2, the game could very easily flop. This could even launch Battlefield 1 higher than the average 15 million.

If Titanfall 2 enthusiasts originally decided that they were skipping over Battlefield 1, the EA sales would be lower. However, if Titanfall 2 is rumored to suck, a lot of excited fans might be disappointed and decide that Battlefield 1 might not be a bad purchase. That being said, everything is up in the air right now. There are so many factors that can influence how this plays out and we really don't know who's going to come out with the best shooter this year. Every company has their golden ticket and it really just comes down to who can please the people more and who can show the community that they're listening. If Titanfall 2 ignores all the feedback from the test, write them off. If Infinite Warfare doesn't step up to the plate and stop a series from a serious decline, they're probably out the door as well. Battlefield 1 needs to promote and hype gamers up like crazy. By doing that, this may even be a year where the set a new record for their sales.
