Battleborn's First DLC Hero Launches

If you have the collector's edition, anyway.

Hey, how nice of you to pry yourself away from Overwatch to join us today. Are you enjoying it? Having a good time? Well, while you're taking a break (or just wasting time between matches), Gearbox would like to quietly remind you that their own game, Battleborn, still exists, and in fact, new content was released for it today, if you felt like checking it out sometime.

As we mentioned earlier, a new character has been released, a nature-loving support called Alani. While she's currently only available for holders of digital collector's edition and those who pre-ordered the game, she'll be released for the general public on the 31st.

But to celebrate her release, Gearbox has released a video showing her and her abilities out. Check it out, if you're having an unusually long time in matchmaking:

No time for a 2-minute video? I got you covered. Here's a full list of her skills and passive:
  • Torrent: Through years of training in Ket, her order's martial art, Alani has honed her ability to control water, hurling water bolts to damage enemies.
  • Wellspring: Channeling her focus and strength, Alani heals herself for a small amount or envelopes an ally in water to heal them.
  • Riptide: Alani sends forth a wave of water that deals damage to enemies, pushes them away, and leaves a trail hastening allies' movement speed.
  • Geyser: Calling upon the power of the oceans, a groundswell erupts, knocking enemies into the air, damaging and binding them.
  • Emergence: Alani summons a water dragon that deals damage to everything caught in its wake.
  • Osmosis (Passive): Alani's healing abilities swell and recede like the tide. Successfully landing hits with Torrent grants up to three stacks to temporarily increase the healing power of Wellspring.
But the good news, for you die-hard Battleforn fans out there, is that this is only the first of five free DLC characters that will be coming out in the coming months. So if you're not really the support type, no worries: someone more your speed is probably going to be coming sometime soon. So sit tight!
