Voting is important, we know this. With an upcoming midterm election in the United States, we're seeing people pushing to go vote. Unfortunately, this drive has brought about a sad reality for many gamers: Obama doesn't care about Pokémon.

Before you burst into tears, here's some context. Obama recently appeared in a video by ATTN, where he addresses the seven most common excuses to not vote. The first excuse was "I don't like politics." His response?

"Look, I don't like Pokémon. But that doesn't mean it won't keep on coming back. That's actually what people in power are betting on. That you'll check out, that you won't vote."

The video continues toward the other reasons which, while humorous and informative, don't return to the topic of pocket monsters.

This isn't the first time a political figure has referenced Pokémon. Though usually it's from a more positive perspective. Our favorite examples are when Hillary Clinton coined the phrase "I don't know who made Pokémon Go, but I'd want them to make... Pokémon.. GO to the polls!" and when Herman Cain quoted Mewtwo in the Pokémon movie by saying "Life can be a challenge. Life can seem impossible. Its never easy when theres so much on the line. But you and I can make a difference. Theres a mission just for you and me."

As well-intentioned as the ATTN video was, many folks have instead focused on the fact that our previous president doesn't like Pokémon. To be fair, he is 57 years old. He was 22 years old when Pokémon first released as a children's game.

If you haven't watched the ATTN video yet, you should. It addresses some valid points regarding voting.
