Will it be... you?

Apex Legends, that game that’s doing really, really well right now, just started its first season with a really lame season pass and a definitely not-lame new character, Octane, who can boost his running speed at the cost of some health, heal himself automatically (albeit very slowly and only out of combat) and make a trampoline that will let your friends (and any enemies) launch high up into the air. He’s a lot of fun, but I’m not sure he’s so fun he’ll stay fresh for the next twelve months, which is the minimum amount of time that’ll pass before Season 2 launches and we’re going to get a new legend.

Indeed, 12 weeks is a long time to wait for new content, which is why this new leak – coming to us fresh and hot from Sony – is so believable. As revealed by Apex Legend’s PS4 page, there will be one more character, as well as “two new items” that will be released before the end of the season. Interesting little tidbit, eh?

Now, the two items could be a clue. If we were to count Octane’s jump pad as an “item” rather than an ability, then it probably means the second character will also have a similar ability – like Wattson, a Telsa-Trap-using character that was uncovered during an earlier data leak. However, if that doesn’t count, then it means that we have more than just a new character to look forward to in the coming weeks. Perhaps we’ll have brand-new ways to customize and improve our battle performance?

They also boast about new customizations to unlock, which, bluntly, is always bad news, as more characters mean more stuff you don’t want or need from them, but hey, this wouldn’t be the games industry if things were completely good all the time.
