The results are in on the console wars--between the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Wii U, which sale came out on top on Black Friday?

To be honest, I thought the Wii U, with its Target bundle sale, would have driven it to the top, but then again, Target is one store. You have to consider all the store sales. So, as expected, PlayStation stole 7 percentage points of market share from Xbox and came out on top for Black Friday, according to InfoScout's marketing blog.

The study, which tracked over 250,000 receipts captured from the mobile apps Shoparoo, Receipt Hog, and Receipt Lottery during Thanksgiving and Black Friday, revealed the Millennial consumers (18 - 35) chose the PlayStation 4 over Xbox One and the Wii U. This is understandable, because Millennial consumers are still young and many of them do not have children and such which could sway their influence to the Wii U, for instance. Additionally, according to the blog regarding Millennial behavior:

"By contrast, Millennials are widely regarded as picky consumers who place comparatively less emphasis on brand loyalty. They live in the moment and their shopping consideration sets are comparatively more flexible."

Have to agree there, unless it relates to certain franchises (*coughFinalFantasycough*). Personally, if I didn't have any of the consoles, I'd choose the PlayStation too over both of them.

Black Friday caused an 8 percent interest rise in PlayStation for Millennials from the average day. For the middle-aged, there was a 3 percent rise for the PlayStation in comparison to the average day. Oddly enough, there was only a 2 percent interest increase on the Xbox.
